Accommodations in Kalibo, Aklan

Here is the list of hotels/pension houses that we’ve personally checked out during our visit in Kalibo, Aklan. The first seven were the ones we’ve visited while walking around the town of Kalibo in the morning. They are arranged according to the one we’ve passed by first from the capitol building of Aklan. The last two were visited in the afternoon as we went to the town of New Washington and back. Sorry we forgot to take pictures of the other hotels, but we have scanned and posted here their brochures/price lists. Check them out!

1. LA ESPERANZA HOTEL
This hotel is along Aklan East Road. Coming from Roxas City or Iloilo, you would see this on the left side, a few meters from the Aklan provincial grounds which is on the right side. This is near Ceres Bus Terminal and beside the van terminals going to Caticlan, Iloilo and Roxas City.

2. ATI-ATIHAN COUNTY INN
My husband and I decided over lunch (after our walking tour) to stay in Ati-Atihan County Inn. We were late for the Ati-Atihan Festival (held every January) and so we wanted to experience a little bit of this famous festival. And we weren't disappointed. The Ati-Atihan County Inn is managed by the local government of Kalibo and located along Maagma St. just a few steps from the Aklan Freedom Shrine.

We chose the economy room. It is an air-conditioned room with a normal TV but common bathroom. The room was clean and spacious enough for us. The common bathroom was not a problem since there were only two rooms on our floor (first floor).

The people were also accommodating and didn’t hesitate to answer our inquiries. A government receipt was given as soon as we paid.

3. JUDITH'S PENSIONNE
This is located along Veterans Avenue, a few steps from the Kalibo Municipal Hall.

4. KALIBO HOTEL
We had a hard time finding this hotel on foot since the address stated on the internet was N. Roldan Street. Good thing we didn’t stop looking for it and found out that there are two Roldan street. One is A. Roldan Street which is just parallel to N. Roldan St. If you are walking from Veterans Avenue, you will passed by N. Roldan Street first and then A. Roldan Street. If you ride a tricycle though, maybe the driver could drop you off there directly.

5. GARCIA LEGASPI MANSION
From Kalibo Hotel, we walked along Roxas Avenue going to Pastrana Street. Along the way, we saw Garcia Legaspi Mansion on the left side. It occupies the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building with the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) on the first floor. But when we got there, only the 3rd floor level is open. They said they are still renovating the second level. They allowed us to see their rooms and take some pictures. They have spacious rooms with nice ambiance.

6. RB LODGE
This lodge is located along Pastrana Street. They have an internet café and souvenir shop on the first level.

7. NVC CARMEN HOTEL
This hotel is located in Pastrana St. near the corner of 19 Martyrs Street.

8. BACKPACKERS’ HAVEN INN
This is located across the NVC Carmen Hotel. They are close during Sundays but we were able to talk to one of their attendants. We were lucky she was in the vicinity at that time. She said they are not open during Sundays since it’s their day off. So, they don’t have checking-in services during Sundays. They have guest during Sundays, but they should have checked-in a day or days before Sunday.

9. SAMPAGUITA GARDENS
Aklan Sampaguita Gardens Resort Inc. is located in New Washington town which is just around 15-20 minutes away by jeepney. Though most visitors we saw did only a day tour in the park, Sampaguita Gardens also offers great accommodations for tourists. I think this would be good if you are with a family and you enjoy a quality and quieter time away from the bustling town.

10. MARZON HOTEL
From New Washington, you could see Marzon Hotel of the left along Jaime Cardinal Sin Avenue. This is just a few steps from Saylo Cuisine and Latte Coffee Café.

I just want to ask if there's any van/bus terminal going to caticlan near at the Ati-Atihan Country Inn or Olivero's Place. Thank you. =)
